There will be a Music Quiz hosted by Kevin on Friday 28th of August bank holiday Weekend, the quiz will start at 8:30.

For the month of September our Sunday opening Hours will be changing to 12-7pm, food available from12-2.30 only.

First Monday of every month if you fancy a chin wag, change of scenery and a FREE cup of tea/coffee and cake come along 2-4 pm. We can pick up and drop home if you cannot get here. From Mike

Our Chef, Jamie, has left us, and I would like to thank him for his work for the Inn for the last 3 years, from barman to general assistant to head chef, and I’m sure he will be successful in his cheffing career.

The Inn is looking for the Crib Players for the Pub Team, the team plays once a week through the winter every Wednesday from 8:30, it’s a great way to meet new people from the village. Please leave your name and number with Fred who will ensure you are contacted.

Megan and I were very touched by the wonderful present of a day and evening at Celtic Manor which was excellent, apart from Megan trying to poison me with whisky. I was delighted so many people were with us on the Sunday and for bringing a great array of food. My special thanks go to Kevin, Suzanne, Fred and Dave & Dilys for, from what I understand, organised this event. Lauren for making a speech to a group of people who she grew up was also impressive. Angie, as always, was brilliant and thanks to all the people she coerced to play.

Dates for your diary

Sunday 21st of August we will open from 12-4.

Sunday 9th October I will be “running” the Oxford ½ marathon, “just for fun”.

The Inn will be closed for maintenance and a week break for Megan & I from Sunday 16th to Sunday 23rd of October. Fred will open the bar on Wed.19/10 and Fri 21/10.

Apologies to Chris & Pat and to the Grove family who have invited to their houses, unfortunately the only way we can guarantee to go anywhere is to close the Inn, which we did for Liz & Tony anniversary do at the golf club and Illyffs Sunday lunch at the barn, or for one of us to stay at the pub. Please don’t stop inviting us, but with enough notice, we may well close the Inn, as I’m tired of missing all the fun.

Love and peace
