A note from Fred

Thank you for everyone’s kind words, I have 2 weeks of radiotherapy in Oxford starting on the 24th of July, of which is going well I hope. I will hopefully get the all clear by the end of the year.

The big social event of the year, the wedding of Louise and Graham takes place on Sat. 19th of August, with the reception taking place at chez nous. as you can see from the above notes we are closed to the public on the day.

We have made a policy decision to close the Inn if we are not in residence, as the fallout, when we arrive back, is too painful.

The Inn will be closed from Thurs 28/9 until Sunday 1/10 (Fred will open the bar on Friday 29th from 7-11) and from Sunday 12/11 reopening on Tuesday 21st of November

We will not be opening at all on Christmas day or New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. We are happy to fulfil any Christmas parties.

The Bar. From 1/8, all spirits will be served in 25ml, as this is now the industry standard.

We had a visit from the BBC to interview Bill Bailey on Friday 28th of July, who was here a couple of years ago. He follows the like of the likes of Norman Wisdom, Arthur Smith and Stewart Lee as comedians who have imbibed at the Inn with the Well, whilst we’ve been in residence! There is a copy of the interview on our Facebook page.

And so the mass exodus of Ogbourne continues with the Reardon Smiths moving to pastures new soon, following the loss of Timothy and Richenda George, Keith Wallace, Mary and David Rukin and Sheree and Graham Wilson, all who used the Inn during their time in the village.

Special note- Marley will 12 be on Saturday August 5th

Special, special, note we celebrated?! 26 years at the helm.
